Maham Khalid

Maham Khalid (b. 2002, Kuwait) is a visual artist based in Lahore, Pakistan. Born and raised in Kuwait, she moved to Lahore to complete her BFA at the National College of Arts, majoring in Painting. The experience of relocation continues to shape her practice rooted in remembrance. Her work explores themes of memory, nostalgia, and the passage of time. Questioning the camera’s ability to capture the intangible essence of a place, she uses light as a primary element to evoke warmth, silence, and the subtle weight of atmosphere; reflecting how memory shifts and softens over time. Working primarily in oil, she focuses on conveying the feeling of a place rather than its exact appearance. Her paintings invite viewers to encounter spaces that feel both deeply personal and universally familiar, by recalling the quiet emotions attached to them.
