Amna Faisal

Amna Faisal (born 2003) is a Lahore-based visual artist and a recent graduate in Miniature Painting from the University of the Punjab, College of Art and Design. Her artistic practice is deeply rooted in the tradition of miniature painting, which she reinterprets through a contemporary perspective to address present-day social and environmental issues in Pakistan.Working primarily with gouache and watercolours on handmade wasli paper, Amna maintains the precision and discipline of traditional miniature techniques while expanding them conceptually. Her work employs symbolism to explore themes of water scarcity, environmental neglect, and the impact of human indifference on natural resources. By merging historical visual language with modern narratives, she creates layered compositions that reflect current conditions in Pakistan. Recently she has displayed her work at Mainframe the gallery (Karachi).
