Huma Maqbool

Huma Maqbool (born 1986) is a visual artist, teacher, and writer currently based in Lahore, Pakistan. She
completed her Master's in Philosophy at the University of Karachi in 2014. Huma then pursued and completed
an M.A. (Hons.) in Visual Arts from the National College of Arts, Lahore, in 2018. She has exhibited her
artworks in groups locally in Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad. In 2023, she had her first solo show, 'Interpretant
of Space' at Tagheer Creative Space, Lahore. She has also reviewed art exhibitions for Art Now Pakistan,
Online, most notably Beyond the End, 2019, a solo show by Mariam Baniasadi exhibited at Taseer Art Gallery,
Lahore, and Spaces between the Histories, 2020, exhibited at Alhamra Art Museum, Lahore. She has also
contributed to The News on Sunday, Pakistan, when she reviewed Pieces of Enlightenment, 2019, the National
College of Arts, Lahore, Fine Arts degree show. Selected artworks of hers are housed within the permanent
collection of the Ambiance Boutique Art Hotels, thrice. She has taught as part of the Institute for Art and
Culture, Lahore, for two years, and is currently teaching at COMSAT University, Islamabad, Lahore as an
Assistant professor.
