Khusro Subzwari & Shanzay Subzwari (Collateral Work)

his new body of work marks a rare collaboration between artists Khusro Subzwari and Shanzay Subzwari, where two distinct artistic languages merge into a shared vision. Khusro, known for his whirling dervishes that draw from Rumi's verses and the quest for divine enlightenment, is joined by his daughter Shanzay, whose practice often involves archival prints of currency notes layered with reflections on popular culture, history, and the human condition.

In this exhibition, Shanzay expands her visual language by returning to acrylics after a span of eleven years. The show brings together three strands Khusro's spiritual figures on canvas, Shanzay's contemporary miniature explorations, and a series of acrylics on canvas collaborative works that merge their worlds into a single, contemplative space.

Together, these collaborative paintings imagine a spiritual realm, a place where the soul can step away from the weight and noise of daily life to reconnect with the Higher Creator. South Asian motifs and textures weave through the compositions, harmonizing two generations of artistic thought into one collective vision of peace, transcendence, and renewal
