

Saamia Ahmed is an Associate Professor at the National College of Arts (NCA), Lahore, and a practicing
artist and educationist. She began her career in 2000 after graduating from NCA, and earned an MA
(Hons) in Visual Art in 2003. Currently pursuing a PhD in Art History/Archaeology from the Postgraduate
Institute of Archaeology, Colombo, her research focuses on historical murals in Lahore.Saamia has
exhibited her work internationally and received a merit award for her painting "If Tomorrow Comes" in
2012. She is a contributing writer for leading Pakistani publications and has held leadership roles,
including Country Manager for SABAH Pakistan under the SAARC Development Fund.She is an active
member of ICOMOS Pakistan and its International Scientific Committee on Mural Painting, as well as a
founding member of CROMLahore and the Tamasha Collective. A fellow of both ICOM and IA&A, she has
represented Pakistan abroad. Based in Lahore, she remains deeply engaged in uncovering the city's
artistic heritage.
