Sundeep Kumar

Sundeep Kumar (b. 1992) is a visual artist and art educator from Karachi, Pakistan. He earned a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts with a specialization in painting from the Centre of Excellence in Art & Design, MUET, Jamshoro (now Shaheed Allah Buksh Soomro University of Art, Design and Heritage) in 2015. From an early age, Kumar had a deep interest in art, picture manipulation in Photoshop, and macro photography. Fascinated by viewing small objects on a larger scale, his macro photography allowed him to observe details often overlooked. This interest led him to create large-scale paintings of coins for his thesis, utilizing his image manipulation skills to design visuals where the coin's minting year was a central element. His paintings, characterized by a surreal subtlety and nostalgic feel, address a variety of socio-political and general topics. Kumar's work has been featured in over twenty exhibitions, including a solo show and several charity events. His work is a part of VM Art Gallery’s permanent collection. His achievements have been recognized through interviews by local digital media publications, news channels, and a morning TV show. In 2018, he co-founded the Atelier School of Art and Design in Karachi, where he teaches art to diverse age groups and trains students to get into their desired art fields.
