Raheela Abro is a Karachi-based artist with an art practice since 2010. She has exhibited her
works in local and international art galleries, including three Solo and two 2-Person exhibitions
at the Canvas Gallery, Karachi. She has participated in more than 50 group exhibitions at
galleries in Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore as well as in Dubai and Iran. Her works are part of
prominent art collections across the world. She is currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program and
completed her MA in Art Education from the Beaconhouse National University, Lahore in 2017.
Abro received her Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from the University of Karachi in 2009. Along with her
art practice, she also maintains a teaching practice since 2011 and has been teaching at the
Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture, Karachi School of Art, the Center of Excellence in Art
& Design, and Sindh Madressatul Islam University. She is currently a lecturer at the Department
of Visual Studies at the University of Karachi. Abro was also invited for the guest lectures by
the Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design, Lahore and Iqra University, Karachi. She was also
invited as a juror for critiques and theses at various universities and institutes as well as by
different organizations to judge the art competitions organized by them. She has been
interviewed by ‘Jahan-e-Pakistan Magazine and Sindh Express Newspaper and her works have
been published in numerous art magazines, catalogues, and newspapers.
